Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTMar 12, 2013 - Austrian technology group Andritz (WBAG:ANDR) said today it had won an order to supply a biomass-fueled high-energy recovery boiler at a Slovakia paper mill of packaging and paper group Mondi (LON:MNDI, JNB:MND).
The high-energy recovery boiler will use as fuel energy-rich biomass by-product of pulp production. Thus it will allow the mill operator to cut the use of fossil fuels at the site in Ruzomberok. The boiler is to start work by the end of 2014, Andritz said.
The supply contract is in line with Mondi’s energy efficiency and environmental protection programme which aims to make that mill in Slovakia energy self-sufficient. The plan also envisages increased pulp production.
Andritz also got orders to deliver equipment for Mondi operations in Sweden and the Czech Republic as part of the paper maker’s green strategy. Financial details on the orders were not disclosed.
