Mondi to spend EUR 128m on green energy projects at Slovakia mill

(SeeNews) – Dec 21, 2012 - International packaging and paper group Mondi (LON:MNDI, JNB:MND) today said it would make a EUR-128-million (USD 169m) investment in green energy projects at its Ruzomberok mill in Slovakia.

The company plans to build a new recovery boiler at the facility to boost pulp production, lower the environmental footprint and improve costs. The projects will involve improvements in chemical recovery as well as green energy and heat generation during the pulp production process. The boiler is expected to be put online in the fourth quarter of 2014.
