Ammper Power to procure electricity from 50-MW solar park in Texas
Sep 20, 2024 5:46 CESTThe Sainshand wind farm, with a power generating capacity of 55 MW, has successfully entered commercial operation in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia.
This was announced today by Mott MacDonald, which carried out technical, environmental and social due diligence during the project's financing stage. In addition, the firm provided construction monitoring services and will now monitor operations in an ongoing role.
Engie (EPA:ENGI) announced in August 2017 that it had secured USD 120 million (EUR 105.7m) in loans for the construction of the wind park. The French energy group co-developed the project with Germany’s Ferrostaal, Danish Climate Investment Fund (DCIF) and Mongolian entrepreneur Radnaabazar Davaanyam.
The Vestas-powered wind park has the capacity to produce some 200 GWh of electricity per year, which is enough to cover the consumption of about 100,000 homes.
