Montenegro issues ten-year licence to Mozura wind farm operator

Montenegro's energy regulatory agency said that it has issued a ten-year licence for electricity production to the operator of the 46 MW Mozura wind farm.

The licence, issued to Montenegro-based Mozura Wind Park Podgorica, will be valid until December 2029, the energy regulatory agency said in a notice on Monday.

The agency also said it has suspended the procedure for awarding the status of a privileged power producer to Mozura Wind Park Podgorica at the request of the company. It did not elaborate.

Mozura Wind Park Podgorica started production of electricity at the wind farm situated in Ulcinj municipality in November. Mozura will be the second largest wind farm in Montenegro and will produce some 120 GWh of electricity, helping to reduce the country's power imports, the Montenegrin government said back then.

Maltese state-owned company Enemalta holds a 10% stake in Mozura Wind Park Podgorica, while the remainder is owned by Malta Montenegro Wind Power JV. International Renewable Energy Development Limited, a joint venture company incorporated by Enemalta and Shanghai Electric in 2015, controls a 70% stake in Malta Montenegro Wind Power JV, while 30% is owned by Guernsey-based Vestigo Clean Energy I Limited and Hong Kong-based Envision Energy International Limited.
