Kibo Energy seeks to buy 20-GW renewables pipeline in Europe, Africa
Sep 16, 2024 17:21 CESTIndian state-run energy company NTPC Ltd (BOM:532555) and the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen their cooperation in the area of renewable energy.
Under the terms, the two companies agreed to explore joint opportunities to develop green energy projects in Africa, MASEN said on Wednesday.
The cooperation is aimed also at pooling NTPC and MASEN's expertise primarily in research and development and strengthening renewable energy capacities.
The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 17th CII- Exim Bank Conclave on India-Africa Project Partnership that took place in New Delhi.
Morocco aims to achieve a 52% share of renewable energy in its electricity mix by 2030. The North African country already has 4.1 GW of green power plants in operation, including 2.5 GW of solar, 1.32 GW of wind and 360 MW of hydropower.
