MPC Caribbean finalises acquisition of 6.4-MWp solar farm in El Salvador Solar farm. Author: Alan Levine.

MPC Caribbean Clean Energy Fund LLC, part of German asset management group MPC Capital AG (ETR:MPCK), said it had closed the acquisition of the 6.4-MWp San Isidro solar farm in El Salvador on March 2.

The formal close comes almost three months after the fund first announced the deal. No other details were provided.

Construction of San Isidro was finalised in late December 2020, and with that milestone the solar farm became part of the investment portfolio owned by MPC Caribbean Clean Energy Fund, MPC Capital announced at the time.

The San Isidro solar farm reached commercial operation date (COD) on January 29, MPC Caribbean said this week.

The plant has a 20-year USD-denominated power purchase agreement (PPA) in place with CAESS, a subsidiary of US energy company AES Corp (NYSE:AES).
