Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTNetherlands-based sustainable energy company MPC Energy Solutions NV (OSE:MPCES) said on Wednesday it had recently inaugurated its two solar farms with a combined capacity of 21.07 MWp in El Salvador.
The Santa Rosa and Villa Sol plants, located in the municipality of Quezaltepeque, will generate around 43 GWh of electricity per year, according to the company’s earlier estimates. They will start injecting power to the grid in December, local media outlet La Prensa Grafica reported.
CAESS, the local arm of US power producer AES Corp (NYSE:AES), procured the entire solar energy output under a 20-year USD-denominated power purchase agreement (PPA).
Victor Atehortua, MPCES project manager, told La Prensa Grafica that the company plans to develop some 70 MW of projects to reach 100 MW in El Salvador in the next three years.
Besides Santa Rosa and Villa Sol, MPCES also owns the 6.4-MWp San Isidro solar farm in the country.
