Singapore-based data centre real estate investment trust Keppel DC REIT (SGX:AJBU) has committed to procuring electricity from 14.3 MW of Irish solar parks under deals with a unit of Greek industrial and energy group Mytilineos SA (FRA:MYH).

The procurement will be carried out under two 10-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) and will benefit Keppel DC REIT’s two data centres in Dublin, the partners announced on Wednesday.

Mytilineos’ Energy & Metals business will supply the contracted power volumes from two photovoltaic (PV) parks in Wexford and Kilkenny counties. Once commissioned this summer, they will be able to generate around 13.6 GWh of electricity annually, supplying about 11% of the two data centres’ total power requirements.

With the latest PPAs, 92% of the power demand at Keppel DC REIT’s two Dubin facilities will be met by renewables.

The off-take contracts were signed to support Keppel DC REIT’s goal to achieve net zero operations in Ireland by 2030 and come on the heels of a deal for 67 GWh of wind power annually signed with Greencoat Renewables in April.
