Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTSKOPJE (Macedonia), February 3 (SeeNews) – North Macedonia’s state-owned power producer Elektrani na Severna Makedonija (ESM), formerly known as ELEM, said it is inviting bids for the expansion of country’s first wind farm, in the southeastern town of Bogdanci, by 13.2 - 15 MW to 50 MW.
The bidding deadline is March 2 and the planned investment is expected to amount to around 21 million euro ($23.3 million), according to a tender notice posted on the ESM website.
German development bank KfW is providing an 18 million euro loan for the project while the rest will be financed by the ESM.
The 36.8 MW Bogdanci wind farm comprises 16 wind turbines, whose construction was completed in February 2014. It started operations in July 2015.
German development bank KfW has lent 47.9 million euro towards the cost of the project, while the remaining 7.6 million euro came from ESM’s own funds.
