Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTNorth Macedonia's gross electricity production edged down an annual 2% to 352,340 MWh in June, the statistical office said, citing preliminary data.
Net electricity output fell by 2.7% year-on-year in June - to 331,558 MWh, Makstat said in a statement last week.
Thermal power plants contributed the largest portion of the gross domestic electricity production in June, generating 155,450 MWh, up 5.1% compared to the same month in 2020.
Hydro power plants followed with 111,018 MWh of electricity output, down 7.4% year-on-year.
Wind parks' output decreased by 13.9% year-on-year to 9,088 MWh in the month under review, while biogas plants generated 4,437 MWh of electricity, 5.6% lower compared with the same month in 2020.
Solar parks produced 2,604 MWh, up 3.4% on the year.
Electricity generated by cogeneration plants and auto-production thermal power stations totalled 69,743 MWh in June 2021, down 5.8% on an annual comparison basis.
North Macedonia’s electricity imports increased by an annual 6.5% to 198,970 MWh in June. Electricity exports came in at 21,640 MWh in June, down 68.4% on the year.
Distribution losses increased by 12% on the year to 45,002 MWh in June.
