Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTNorth Macedonia's gross electricity production fell by an annual 2.8% to 490,657 MWh in July, the statistical office said on Friday, citing preliminary data.
Net electricity output decreased by 3.5% year-on-year in July - to 464,271 MWh, Makstat said in a statement.
Thermal power plants contributed the largest portion of the gross domestic electricity production in July, generating 207,981 MWh, up 13.2% compared to the same month in 2020.
Electricity generated by cogeneration plants and auto-production thermal power stations totalled 150,171 MWh in July 2021, down 4.7% on an annual comparison basis.
Hydro power plants generated 118,174 MWh of electricity, down 19.3% year-on-year.
Wind parks' output decreased by 20.9% year-on-year to 7,363 MWh in the month under review, while biogas plants generated 4,264 MWh of electricity, 12.6% lower compared with the same month in 2020.
Solar parks produced 2,704 MWh, down 4.6% on the year.
North Macedonia’s electricity imports increased by an annual 1.5% to 151,338 MWh in July. Electricity exports came in at 39,470 MWh in July, down 63.3% on the year.
Distribution losses increased by 15% on the year to 52,797 MWh in July.
