Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTNorth Macedonia's gross electricity production edged up by an annual 0.4% to 409,394 MWh in November, the statistical office said on Tuesday, citing preliminary data.
Net electricity output rose by 0.8% year-on-year in November - to 385,603 MWh, Makstat said in a statement.
Thermal power plants contributed the largest portion of the gross domestic electricity production in November, generating 166,136 MWh, down 16.7% compared to the same month in 2020.
Electricity generated by cogeneration plants and auto-production thermal power stations totalled 162,648 MWh in November 2021, flat on an annual comparison basis.
Hydro power plants generated 69,138 MWh of electricity, up 116.4% year-on-year.
Wind parks' output fell 26.6% year-on-year to 5,859 MWh in the month under review, while biogas plants generated 4,608 MWh of electricity, 1.1% higher compared with the same month in 2020.
Solar parks produced 1,006 MWh, down 28% on the year.
North Macedonia’s electricity imports decreased by an annual 5.5% to 312,184 MWh in November. Electricity exports came in at 22,127 MWh in November, down 67.1% on the year.
Distribution losses fell 5.3% on the year to 127,075 MWh in November.
