Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTNorth Macedonia's gross electricity production increased by an annual 11.7% to 428,269 MWh in October, the statistical office said on Friday, citing preliminary data.
Net electricity output rose by 12.4% year-on-year in October - to 402,451 MWh, Makstat said in a statement.
Thermal power plants contributed the largest portion of the gross domestic electricity production in October, generating 174,310 MWh, down 24.3% compared to the same month in 2020.
Electricity generated by cogeneration plants and auto-production thermal power stations totalled 172,991 MWh in October 2021, up 118.6% on an annual comparison basis.
Hydro power plants generated 67,773 MWh of electricity, up 14.9% year-on-year.
Wind parks' output fell 9.6% year-on-year to 7,302 MWh in the month under review, while biogas plants generated 4,389 MWh of electricity, 11.1% lower compared with the same month in 2020.
Solar parks produced 1,505 MWh, down 20.6% on the year.
North Macedonia’s electricity imports decreased by an annual 25.9% to 205,442 MWh in October. Electricity exports came in at 38,058 MWh in October, up 0.7% on the year.
Distribution losses increased by 12% on the year to 95,033 MWh in October.
