NEC Energy Solutions Inc (NEC ES) said today it has completed installation of a 4-MW/2.8-MWh energy storage system in Tusimice, Czech Republic, for Czech energy tech company IBG Cesko.

The storage system was installed as part of a research project set up by Czech power company CEZ and local transmission system operator (TSO) CEPS. The solution will be used to test different delivery modes of energy support services, with a focus on meeting the technical requirements for providing primary reserve support for the grid, NEC Energy said.

The storage solutions developer supplied proprietary software and equipment for the project and oversaw the installation and commissioning.
