Neoen closes finance for 41 MWp project in Mozambique Image by Neoen (www.neoen.com).

French renewable energy company Neoen today announced financial closure for a 41 MWp photovoiltaic (PV) project in Mozambique.

In partnership with Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM), Neoen has started construction on the Central Solar Metoro in the north of Mozambique. Works will continue for around 11 months, employing 370 in the process. Commissioning is planned for end-2020.

The investment is estimated at USD 56 million (EUR m), of which USD 40 million were provided by French development agency AFD and its financial arm Proparco.
