Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTCapella Solar, the 140-MW project involving two photovoltaic (PV) parks and battery storage facility that Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) is building in El Salvador, is more than 90% finished, the French company’s local unit has informed.
The work is now focused on developing the commissioning plan to get the solar farm running by the April 1, 2020 deadline for commercial operation date (COD).
The Capella Solar project consists of the Albireo I and II PV parks and a lithium-ion battery with 3.3 MW/2.23 MWh of capacity. The solar parks will operate under 20-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with local power distribution firms Delsur, AES, EDESAL and B&D. Electricity will be sold at a price of USD 49.55 (EUR 44.18) per MWh.
Once up and running, the Capella Solar complex will generate enough electricity to power up 255,000 average households each year and account for 4% of the energy produced in El Salvador, Neoen said.
