MGM Resorts to offtake power from 115-MW solar project in Nevada
Sep 12, 2024 16:38 CESTUS solar and storage developer Nexamp will develop six new community solar farms in Illinois with a combined capacity of 40 MW under a power purchase agreement (PPA) with local coffee retailer Starbucks Corp (NASDAQ:SBUX).
Construction works on the site have already started, with the commissioning expected in 2025, Nexamp said in a press statement published on Wednesday.

Under the agreement, Starbucks will receive just a portion of the renewable electricity credits related to the assets. The remaining capacity will be allocated to area residents and businesses through the Nexamp community solar programme.
The six new sites will provide significant electricity savings to more than 1,100 local residents who subscribe within the ComEd and Ameren utility territories, Nexamp noted further.
In addition to the Illinois project, the two companies have committed to continuing their partnership to add more locations across the country in the future.
