Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CEST(ADPnews) - Apr 29, 2011 - Taiwan's NexPower Energy, a unit of semiconductor maker United Microelectronics Corp (TPE:2303), has received a supply order for 36 MW of thin-film photovoltaic (PV) solar modules in India.
The contract, awarded by Wipro EcoEnergy, the clean technology unit of IT company Wipro Ltd (BOM:607685), enables NexPower to set foot on the Indian market.
NexPower said today it had already started the shipment of the modules.
Under the agreement, the company will also provide engineering expertise on system design, servicing and delivery of joint solutions to the end customer.
NexPower CEO Arthur Chou said the company has sold 73.8 MW of modules in 2010, compared to 10.3 MW in 2009.
