London-based renewables manager NextEnergy Capital announced today that one of its funds has purchased a portfolio of solar projects in Poland with a combined capacity of about 50 MW from local green investment company Grenevia SA (WSE:GEA).

The transaction was made through NextPower V ESG (NPV ESG) and marks the USD-745-million (EUR 688.7m) fund’s third closed investment within three months. It follows the acquisition of a 100-MW solar project in the USA and 66 MW of renewable energy capacity in Europe.

Over the past six months, NPV ESG managed to build a portfolio of 116 MW of operational solar assets and 100 MW of solar projects under construction. The investment vehicle expects to transact about 400 MW more by the end of this quarter.

NPV ESG is seeking USD 1.5 billion in size with a USD-2-billion ceiling. The overall target of the fund is achieving 4 GW to 5GW of capacity.
