BLM clears huge transmission link, solar-storage project in Nevada
Sep 16, 2024 10:05 CESTBy end-2019 Oklahoma will become home to a 250-MW wind park, proposed to be developed by NextEra Energy Inc (NYSE:NEE), the Enid News & Eagle daily reports, citing a project manager at the company.
To be called the Skeleton Creek project, the wind park is planned to be located in the state’s Garfield and Alfalfa counties and start generating electricity within this year. It will be powered by around 90 turbines by General Electric (NYSE:GE), with construction to begin after certain permits are obtained, Elinore Beitler, a project manager with NextEra Energy told the newspaper.
The wind park is seen to bring up to USD 120 million (EUR 106.8m) to the community through property taxes and landowner payments during its 30-year lifespan, NextEra estimates. Its construction will open about 300 new jobs in the two counties.
The project will be presented at an open house on March 26.
