NEXTracker commissions trackers for 82 MW of solar parks in Honduras

US single axis solar tracker maker NEXTracker Inc said Tuesday it has completed commissioning for 82 MW of solar power plants developed by SunEdison Inc (NYSE:SUNE) in southern Honduras.

SunEdison is building the 23.3-MW Pacifico, 23.3-MW Choluteca I and 35.1-MW Choluteca II photovoltaic parks after winning power purchase agreements with Honduras' national utility. Empresa Nacional de Energia Electrica (Enee) is to purchase the output 20 years as of the second half of 2015, according to the projects' schedule.

In 2014, NEXTracker and SunEdison established a partnership whereby the latter agreed to buy over three years up to 1.85 GW of trackers for round-mounted solar projects globally. In April 2015, the manufacturer announced the completion of tracker commissioning for SunEdison's 69.5-MW Javiera plant in Chile.

The company has the ability to supply over 200 MW of photovoltaic tracker systems per month.
