US solar tracker maker Nextracker Inc (NASDAQ:NXT) and contract manufacturer Unimacts on Tuesday dedicated a new factory in the Las Vegas area that produces steel torque tubes for solar trackers.

The new facility in Sloan, Nevada is the second Nextracker-dedicated manufacturing line that Unimacts has opened in less than a year. The two factories will support more than 2 GW of new solar power per year, serving growing solar demand in the Southwest US.

Nextracker said it continues its drive to reshore manufacturing, having opened or expanded over 20 US manufacturing facilities since 2021.

“The federal incentives allow us to confidently invest in U.S. manufacturing, provide manufacturing jobs in Nevada and growth in the local economy,” said Unimacts CEO Alan Hayes.

Including the new factory, Nextracker has an annual domestic solar tracker capacity of over 30 GW.
