Nhoa Energy, a unit of Nhoa SA (EPA:NHOA), formerly Engie EPS, has commissioned a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity of more than 120-MWh located in the Yilan County, Taiwan, according to a statement published today.

The facility was built for Taiwan Cement Group (TCC Group) within the SuAo plant and marked the latest project realised for Nhoa’s parent company. At the end of 2023, the energy storage firm finalised another, 311-MWh battery for TCC Group.

Nhoa Energy has about 2 GWh of BESS in operation and under construction across five continents. In Asia alone, it has so far commissioned 550 MWh of systems.

“As countries across Asia invest heavily in clean energy to meet their climate targets and reduce dependence on fossil fuels, Nhoa Energy's projects exemplify the critical role of innovative energy storage solutions," said Lucie Kanius-Dujardin, executive vice president of global markets of Nhoa Energy.
