Ireland’s PCRE secures 280 MWp of solar in RESS 4 auction
Sep 12, 2024 17:57 CESTJul 5, 2013 - Irish solar cell technology firm Nines Photovoltaics said Friday it has picked North American Nanotech Inc to become its exclusive sales agent for the North American market.
The appointment of Nanotech, which provides sales channels for equipment suppliers selling into the US, Canadian and Mexican markets, is part of Nines' global sales strategy, it added.
The first product that will be available for sale on the continent will be Nines' R&D tool (9s DE 100). This is an atmospheric-pressure dry etching technology that is intended to cut costs in the solar cells manufacturing process while fostering cell efficiency.
The Irish company has so far developed two R&D tools in the field, with one of them now being produced at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Germany. Nines has also hired sales agents in central Europe to meet strong demand for the technology.
