German wind turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) has secured an order to deliver its hardware for an over 100-MW wind project in the Canadian province of Quebec.

The customer’s name and the name of the project covered by the deal were not disclosed in the manufacturer’s press statement on Tuesday.

Under the deal, Nordex will supply 19 units of its N163/5.X turbines, which will be mounted on 125-metre-high tubular steel towers. The unnamed wind farm developer and operator has ordered the turbines in the cold climate variant, which means they will be equipped with an anti-icing system for the rotor blades that will allow them to operate in low temperatures.

The delivery of the machines is scheduled to take place in the summer of 2026.

The German manufacturer closed the first nine months of 2024 with an order intake of about 5.1 GW, registering a 4% year-on-year rise during a period of a stable average sales price. Last month, it announced contracts for the delivery of a total of 74 machines with a combined capacity of 500 MW in Canada.
