Repsol hit with lawsuit over Hecate Energy deal in US - report
Sep 17, 2024 15:29 CESTGerman wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) is about to expand its offering designed for the US market with the introduction of the N169/5.X, a variant within the 5-MW segment that is scheduled to enter production in 2026.
The N169/5.X has a rotor diameter of 169 meters (554 ft) and a power rating of up to 5.5 MW. The machine will have its main components made in the US and will be manufactured at Nordex’ facility in West Branch, Iowa, which is already producing the N163 model, the European company said in a statement released today.
The N169/5.X turbine, part of Nordex’ Delta4000 platform, is suitable for wind regions in the US without intense turbulence and with low to medium wind speeds. It will allow Nordex to meet additional customer needs in grid-constrained sites.
“Once again, we have followed our proven approach of an evolutionary product strategy by using proven components of our 5 MW class to develop a turbine variant that significantly increases yield, especially in projects with limited grid capacity, through an optimized capacity factor,” CEO Jose Luis Blanco said.
