German wind turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) said today it has received an order from renewables developer UKA (Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen GmbH & Co KG) to equip the 68-MW Mahlsdorf wind farm in Brandenburg.

The contract for ten 6.8-MW turbines with hub heights of 179 metres (587 ft) takes the manufacturer past the order intake mark of 10 GW in Germany and 70 GW globally since the company’s foundation in 1985, it added.

The turbines, to be placed on hybrid towers developed in-house by the Nordex Group, will be installed and commissioned in 2025. The order also includes a 20-year maintenance service.

Nordex installed the first N175/6.X at a hub height of 112 metres in Schleswig-Holstein in the summer of 2024. The prototype of the N175/6.X with 179 metres is to follow in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This is the most powerful and tallest turbine that the company offers in the German market.

UKA, a repeat customer, will build the Mahlsdorf wind farm in a forest location. “Together with Nordex, we will use the Mahlsdorf wind farm to sharpen our profile as a specialist for wind projects in the forest,” said Gernot Gauglitz, managing partner of the UKA Group.
