German wind turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) announced today that it has been contracted to equip Statkraft’s 23.1-MW Kilathmoy wind farm in Ireland.

The contract calls for the delivery of seven N100/3300 3.3-MW turbines and also includes a 20-year Premium Service Agreement.

The Kilathmoy wind farm is to be built in county Kerry, south-west Ireland. Work on the infrastructure at the project site is about to begin, according to the announcement. Turbine installation is scheduled for the summer of 2019, with completion expected at the end of the year.

In 2012, the German company built the 52.5-MW Baillie wind park in Scotland for its Norwegian customer, using 21 N90/2500 wind turbines. Kilathmoy is the first wind farm in Ireland for Statkraft and represents its pilot investment in renewable energy on the island, respectively.
