Germany’s Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) has won an order to supply its onshore wind turbines for an 80-MW project set in Turkey’s Sivas Province.

The order was placed by German-Turkish renewables developer-operator Borusan EnBW Enerji, a Turkey-based joint venture between German utility EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (ETR:EBK) and Turkish industrial group Borusan Holding AS.

Nordex landed a contract to supply 14 units of its N163/5.X turbines for Borusan EnBW Enerji’s Pelit wind farm project and provide a premium service for the machines for ten years.

The Pelit wind farm will be erected on a mountain ridge, located some 20 kilometres (12.4 miles) north-west of the Sivas Gurun district. Nordex will install the cold climate version of its turbines, equipped with an advanced anti-icing system to reduce ice formation on the rotor blades, the company said.

The Pelit wind farm is expected to start operation in the third quarter of 2025, according to Evren Aktas, Borusan EnBW Enerji Energy Power Plants Assistant General Manager.

In December 2023, Borusan EnBW Enerji ordered Nordex turbines for its 36-MW Balabanli Extension II wind project. Turbine delivery and installation of Balabanli Extension II will be completed in 2024.
