Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CESTUS railway transportation company Norfolk Southern Corporation (NYSE:NSC) has signed contracts with Dynegy and Champion Energy to purchase 100% renewable power to supply its operations in the Altoona and Reading regions of Pennsylvania.
Norfolk Southern said in a statement on Wednesday that it will buy almost 59,000 MWh of clean energy under one three-year and one four-year contract. All electricity it buys will be produced from renewable sources such as wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, or hydroelectric. The purchased volumes should offset emissions from the electricity used to power Norfolk Southern offices and facilities in the regions.
