Norwegian company Norsk Vind Energi AS is holding preliminary talks to build a 200-MW wind park in Iran, the country’s deputy energy minister, Alireza Daemi, was cited as saying by the Iranian Labour News Agency (ILNA).

According to the minister, Norsk Vind, as any other foreign enterprise interested in local ventures, should have an Iranian partner for the project. Furthermore, there is a domestic content requirement.

The news comes after last week another Norway-based company, namely Saga Energy (OTCMKTS:SAGA), struck a EUR-2.5-billion (USD 2.9bn) preliminary agreement to install 2 GW of solar power capacity in Iran over the next four to five years. With regard to that development, Daemi has said that the solar parks will be deployed in three phases and in six regions.

The news agency also cited the minister as saying that discussions are also being held with another Norwegian company over the potential construction of a 180-MW solar farm.
