Norwegian offshore operations specialist DOF Group ASA announced today it has received a contract to repair an export cable for an offshore wind farm in the Southern North Sea.

Without disclosing the name of the offshore wind park or the customer, DOF’s group CEO Mons S Aase referred to this USD-13-million (EUR 12m) project as a “highly important” one. It covers the retrieval of the damaged cable and the termination, installation, trenching, and commissioning of the new one.

DOF’s scope of work includes project management, engineering, procurement, and logistics of the cable and all associated equipment. It will also handle the complete offshore works, the execution of which is planned from March onwards.

The company’s team across Aberdeen, Scotland, and Bergen, Norway, will implement the project using Skandi Hera installation vessel.
