Norwegian Hydrogen AS and Australia’s Provaris Energy Ltd (ASX:PV1) have announced a plan to expand their collaboration in green hydrogen with a new agreement to jointly deploy new production and export sites in the Nordics to supply European industrial users.

The pact outlines the potential installation of electrolysers and hydrogen compression facilities linked to export jetties, with the hydrogen to be produced utilising locally available renewable energy sources. Provaris' technologies will be employed for hydrogen storage and marine transportation.

The plan for this year provides for the selection of sites for further pre-feasibility studies, focusing on hydrogen production and export logistics, including safety, environmental and regulatory aspects, according to a joint statement from Tuesday.

The new collaboration agreement will build on the existing partnership between the companies and leverage insights from the successful pre-development activities for the FjordH2 project which was completed in 2023.
