Sep 18, 2024 8:54 CESTJan 23, 2012 - Danish industrial enzymes maker Novozymes A/S (CPH:NZYM B) said on Friday that its partner, US biomass-to-biofuels company Fiberight LLC, will build a new commercial-scale advanced biofuels plant in the USA.
Novozymes will supply the enzymes needed for turning household and office waste into biofuels.
The US Department of Agriculture will invest USD 25 million (EUR 19.4m) in the project and Fiberight -- USD 20 million.
The plant will be located in Blairstown, Iowa and will produce 6 million gallons (22.7m litres) of advanced biofuels a year. Fully operational as of the first half of 2013, it will have some 55 employees and will create 100 construction jobs.
Fiberight will also build a smaller-scale plant for the production and sale of ethanol in Lawreceville, Virginia in 2012.
