Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CESTSep 18, 2014 - US utility NRG Energy Inc (NYSE:NRG) said in a statement on Thursday it had concluded its takeover of local portable solar systems company Goal Zero LLC.
The deal was first announced in mid-August. Its financial terms remained undisclosed.
With headquarters in Salt Lake City, Goal Zero offers a suite of portable solar panels and solar recharger kits along with accessories. Founded in 2009, the firm’s headcount now approximates 100 people.
Last month, NRG Energy announced it plans to combine its wind, large-scale solar and renewables driven microgrid operations into a new entity named NRG Renew. Meanwhile, the group’s residential solar business will go to another new unit -- NRG Home. Goal Zero will become part of NRG Home as well, the company said previously.
