AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE) has formed a GBP-50-million (USD 65.9m/EUR 59.4m) strategic partnership with Oakes Energy Services that should enable the deployment of an immediate portfolio of behind-the-meter ground-mounted solar energy projects.

The partnership will also support Oakes’ pan-technology commercial and industrial sales drive.

Founded in 2007, Oakes offers turnkey solutions across all commercial renewables and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) platforms. It is part of the PHS Group along with sister company 0800 Repair, which specialises in whole house energy efficient measures.

“The partnership between ADE and Oakes Energy Services will support the rapid roll out of decarbonisation projects. The funding, combined with the expertise of ADE’s team, will be a gamechanger in terms of advancing Oakes’ business ambitions,” said PHS Group’s CEO Phil Pallister.

ADE invests in onsite sustainable energy solutions. Last month, it announced a bet on UK energy and property company Dowling Energy to support its solar pipeline, starting with 20 MW of behind-the-meter schemes.

“We expect to deploy more than GBP 300 million of capital into renewable projects across the UK and Europe. Our focus is on simplifying net zero for business customers through innovative and sustainable funding solutions,” Miles Thomas, CCO at ADE, noted in the statement released today.
