J-Power signs solar VPPA for Tokyo Metro in Japan
Sep 18, 2024 15:26 CESTDanish investor Obton has joined forces with developer GSSG Solar LLC and its affiliates through a new joint venture (JV) to acquire a 117-MW solar portfolio in Japan.
The bundle consists of eight operational parks with a combined capacity of 104 MW, and one 13-MW project under development. The operational solar farms were switched on between 2017 and 2022.
Once the full portfolio is up and running, it should be capable of generating enough clean electricity to meet the demand of more than 30,000 Japanese households.
Before this deal, the Danish company had acquired GSSG’s 82-MW solar plant based in Fukushima, Japan.
