Global downstream oil company Puma Energy, majority owned by commodity trader Trafigura, plans to install 100 solar arrays across its network this year, adding to the 200 installed by the end of 2022.

The company had fitted 244 of its sites with solar panels by the end of the second quarter of 2023, it said last Thursday when announcing results for the quarter. The completed solar systems have a combined capacity of 8,875 kW.

In addition, Puma Energy is taking advantage of its experience from installing clean energy at its own assets. The company said it is in talks with several customers about installing and operating clean energy projects at their facilities.

According to Puma Energy’s website, the firm’s retail business has more than 3,000 sites around the world, offering fuels, lubricants, services and other products.

Puma Energy aims to reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 15% by the end of 2025 and by 35% by the end of 2032, with an ambition for operational net zero by 2050.
