NTPC’s green energy arm eyes USD 1.2bn from Indian IPO
Sep 19, 2024 11:52 CESTOman has selected 12 qualified bidders to move to the next round of a tender for five wind projects across the Sultanate which are planned to become operational in 2027.
Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (PWP), the sole offtaker of electricity from independent power plants in Oman, has received statements for qualifications from 16 international and local developers for the projects, it said in a social media post on Monday.
The list of qualified bidders includes ACWA Power, Sembcorp, Sumitomo, TotalEnergies, Masdar, Al Fanar, Elecnor, Goldwind, ITOCHU, Gulf Energy Development and Marafiq, EDF Renouvelables, and Hero Asia Investment.
The 12 developers will compete for the following projects -- Mahoot I with a planned capacity of 342 MW - 400 MW; Jaalan Bani Bu Ali with a capacity of 91 MW - 105 MW; a 114-132 MW wind farm project dubbed Dhofar II; Duqm Wind IPP with a capacity of 234-270 MW and Sadah Wind IPP of 81-99 MW.
The selection of the qualified bidders follows a request for qualifications (RFQ) which was issued in March 2024.
The five projects will require a combined investment of about OMR 457 million (USD 1.18bn/EUR 1.06bn), according to a previous statement.
