US semiconductor supplier Onsemi (NASDAQ:ON) announced it has sealed USD 1.95 billion (EUR 1.77bn) in orders for its intelligent power technologies from global solar inverter manufacturers.

The long-term supply agreements (LTSAs) were signed with eight of the top 10 players in the market, the US firm said in a press release earlier this week, without disclosing the names of the clients.

Onsemi’s portfolio of solar power solutions includes boost and inverter Power Integrated Modules (PIMs) that anchor grid-interface electronics using the company's gate drivers, sensing, control and peripheral power products. The firm offers intelligent power and sensing technologies that are suitable for both residential and utility-scale inverters.
