Jordan Green agrees land deal for solar-powered green ammonia hub
Sep 20, 2024 5:52 CESTNov 12, 2013 - OOO Ecological Energy intends to build a 17-MW solar park in the western part Belarus, the Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA) said Monday, citing a government official.
The solar power project, valued at USD 40 million (EUR 30m), is to be developed in the Smorgon district of the country’s Grodno region, the news agency reported, quoting Andrei Sviridov, the head of the investment office of Fordno Oblast’s economy committee.
The installation will spread on an area of 36 ha (89 acres) at an industrial zone, with its efficiency factor planned to reach 20%. Construction will involve three phases, the first of which is scheduled for completion as early as end-2015. Once operational, the output of the photovoltaic (PV) facility will be fed into the local power grid.
OOO Ecological Energy is owned by Belarusian, Lithuanian and Russian investors.
A 1.26-MW solar system, estimated at USD 1.5 million, is already producing power in Belarus’ Grodno Oblast. It is owned by OOO Agrohimsvet (AHS).
