ABP presents plan to turn Port of Barrow into renewables hub
Sep 18, 2024 14:41 CESTUK consultancy Opergy Group and Mingyang Smart Energy Group Ltd (SHA:601615) have signed a strategic partnership to support the entry of the Chinese wind turbine manufacturer into the UK market.
The pact was announced on Wednesday, on the first day of the Global Offshore Wind conference in London.
The partners believe that by combining Opergy’s expertise across the clean energy sector and Mingyang's offshore wind turbine technology, including its latest 18-MW model, they are well-placed to accelerate the development of UK offshore wind projects.
“The UK has really ambitious plans for offshore wind. If we want to reach 50 GW by 2030, we really need overseas investment to help us achieve that as well as manufacturers to come into the UK,” commented Chris Hay, Head of Renewable Energy Trade Investment in China for the Department of Business and Trade UK.
