Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) has inked a deal to lend USD 47 million (EUR 42m) to a wholly-owned unit of diversified group WRB Enterprises Inc for the development of a 20-MW solar project in Jamaica.
The particular scheme, developed by WRB subsidiary Content Solar Ltd, will require an investment of more than USD 60 million to realise, according to a Thursday press release. The facility will be built in Jamaica’s Clarendon parish and is expected to be the largest project of its kind in the Caribbean.
“Content Solar will power more than 20,000 Jamaican homes, displacing more than 3 million gallons of fossil fuel currently burned each year,” said chairman and CEO Robert Blanchard.
OPIC operates as the US government’s Development Finance Institution.
