Oracle Power PLC (LON:ORCP) said today that the subsidiary of Dutch geo-data specialist Fugro NV (AMS:FUR) hired last December to conduct a topography survey for a 400-MW green hydrogen project in Pakistan, has concluded the job without identifying any significant obstructions regarding the development.

Fugro Pakistan BV has finished the survey and delivered a report to Oracle Energy Ltd, thus paving the way for the launch of the project’s next phase, which includes site design and project planning. Oracle Power said it will rely on the findings of the survey when optimising the planning, design and construction costs.

As part of the job, the Fugro subsidiary has established survey control stations, staked and marked plot boundaries and captured ground elevations on a 25-metre grid, the announcement says.

As previously reported, the project calls for the construction of the green hydrogen production facility in south-east Pakistan as well as 700 MW of solar and 500 MW of wind parks plus a battery storage plant of up to 450 MW. The initial output of the facility is estimated at 55,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year, with operations planned to begin in the final quarter of 2026.

"We are now able to proceed with site clearance and can incorporate the survey data into project design and planning activities. It also sets the stage for the next phase of our Green Hydrogen Project, which includes the expected near term completion of the Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia commercial and technical feasibility study,” commented Naheed Memon, CEO of Oracle.
