World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTSolar energy supplier Oriana Power Ltd (NSE:ORIANA) announced today a contract to build a 20-MW solar plant in eastern India for a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (NSE:COALINDIA).
The site will be based in Dugdha Washery Area, Dhanbad, in the state of Jharkhand. It will house ground-mounted panels that will produce enough electricity to power more than 10,000 homes annually, according to a statement.
Oriana will be in charge of the realisation of the entire project which was awarded by Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL). The company will also provide operation and maintenance services for five years after commissioning.
The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) stage of the facility is expected to cost about INR 1.38 billion (USD 16.6m/EUR 15.2m) and to be completed within 12 months.
The contract with BCCL comes shortly after Oriana Power became a publicly traded entity earlier in August. The company has delivered over 100 MW of solar projects since its founding in 2013.
