Energa Wytwarzanie, part of Polish oil refiner PKN Orlen (WAR:PKN), and Canadian power producer Northland Power Inc (TSE:NPI) have teamed up to establish a new company for servicing offshore wind farms in Poland.

Baltic Offshore Service Solution, as the entity is called, is the first such Polish company, Orlen said on Tuesday.

The new company will focus on the provision of services related to offshore wind farm management, including technical, operational, commercial, and contractual aspects. It will also oversee a new 24-hour wind farm management facility that will be set up by Orlen to deliver monitoring, coordination, and control of offshore assets.

Baltic Offshore Service Solution will bet on Energa’s experience in the servicing and maintenance of onshore renewable energy assets and Northland’s management experience in the onshore and offshore segments.

“The potential for offshore power generation across the Baltic Sea is estimated to exceed 90 GW, indicating a substantial growth trajectory for investments in this sector,” said Jaroslaw Dybowski, executive director for energy at Orlen.

Orlen and Northland are partnering in the 1,140-MW Baltic Power offshore wind project in Poland, targeting its completion in 2026.
