Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTUK-based Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG) is seeking to award an owner’s engineer contract for a 32-MWp solar project in Chad through a competitive tender round.
The company has opened a Request for Proposal (RfP) for what will be the first phase of the 60-MW Djermaya solar project, according to official documents. Interested candidates will be able to apply until July 31, 2020.
To be located around 30 km north of Chadian capital N’Djamena, the 32-MWp solar park has in place a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with utility Societe Nationale d’Electricite. India’s Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BOM:500103) has been picked as the contractor for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance (O&M) works.
Commissioning is targeted in the first quarter of 2022. The power plant will have a 4-MWh integrated battery storage system.
The Djermaya solar project is being developed by Aldwych Africa Developments Ltd, part of PIDG-owned InfraCo Afrcia Litd, and French renewables developer Smart Energies International SAS. Morocco-based Neo Themis SARL will join as project sponsor later this year. This is the first privately-owned utility-scale renewable energy project in Chad, PIDG states.
