Portugal-based CJR Renewables announced on Tuesday that it has been awarded a Balance of Plant (BoP) contract to build a 99.2-MW wind farm in the eastern part of Romania for Swedish renewable energy developer OX2 AB (STO:OX2).

The scope of the work related to the facility incudes engineering and design, construction of 26.3 kilometres (16.3 mi) of roads, 16 crane platforms and 16 foundations plus piling works, 25.2 kilometres of MV Trenches and a 110/33-kV substation.

The wind farm will have 16 turbines of Vesta’s V162 series, each with a capacity of 6.2 MW.

Construction works are set to start in the third quarter of 2024, while commissioning is expected in the first half of 2026, the company noted in a social media post.

The contract is the latest for CJR Renewables in the Balkan country where it has already been engaged for projects such as the 101-MW Simleu Silvaniei solar farm and the 102-MW Urleasca wind farm.
