French packaging group Albea agrees 12-MWp solar off-take deal
Sep 19, 2024 5:38 CESTAustralia-based Pacific Energy Ltd (ASX:PEA) has teamed up with German firm Juwi AG to jointly work on off-grid projects in the Asia-Pacific region that will integrate solar and battery storage with traditional diesel- or gas-fuelled power plants.
As part of the formal strategic alliance, green projects developer Juwi Renewable Energy will provide its know-how in the field of photovoltaic (PV) power generation. In turn, Pacific Energy (KPS) Pty Ltd will be the one in charge of the thermal power-related aspects of the hybrid schemes, the Aussie power generation specialist said Friday.
Previously, Pacific Energy and Juwi worked together on Australian mineral explorer Sandfire Resources NL’s (ASX:SFR) DeGrussa hybrid power station. They integrated a 10.6-MW off-grid solar park and a 6-MW battery with a 20-MW diesel-fired power station.
