Panasonic completes solar power installation at Infineon Raceway

(ADPnews) - Jun 27, 2011 - Through its unit Sanyo Electric, Japanese electronics frim Panasonic Corp (TYO:6752) has completed a 353-kW solar power project at the Infineon Raceway motorsports complex in northern California.

The project is in line with Infineon Raceway’s sustainability strategy, which also includes a recycling programme and other initiatives.

The installation consists of 1,652 solar panels made at Panasonic's manufacturing site in Oregon. They are to meet 41% of the raceway's energy needs, the two companies said. During the next 30 years, the project will save 34,000 barrels of oil.
